Intructions for CROP.EXE
This is a simple utility for cropping PCX pictures on screen. It requires
a mouse and a VESA compatible SVGA board and runs in the 640x480 256 color
mode. To use the utility, do the following :
1. At the prompt, type "crop picture.pcx" and press return, where "picture"
is the name of the file that you wish to crop.
2. Pick a starting point with the mouse, click and hold the left mouse
button, and drag the box to the size that you desire. The starting
coordinate, ending coordinate, and width are displayed at the bottom
of the screen. You can use the right mouse button to toggle this
status bar on and off at any time while the left mouse button is down.
3. Release the left mouse button when you are finished selecting the section
to be cropped. If you are not satisfied with the selection, you may
start over at step 2.
4. If you are satisfied with the selection, press the right mouse button to
write the cropped file to disk and exit the program. The file name will
be "ipicture.pcx", the letter "i" having been added as the first letter
in the new file name.
If you have any suggestions for improving or enhancing this utility, please
do not hesistate to email me at the address below. I've already thought of
adding a file requester, a screen mode requester, scaling, simple editing,
and other features as soon as I have time.
